The sustainable development of the North depends on our ability to anticipate the impacts of the many changes that are taking place there.
SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
The collected data will allow for a concerted analysis and timely update of the state of knowledge of the northern environment and communities. Our understanding of the coupled human-environment system will be greatly improved and will allow early diagnosis of problems and better crisis management in the short term.
PARADIGM SHIFT
The updated knowledge acquired as part of Sentinel North's research program will allow the development of novel approaches in the anticipation and mitigation of major health and environmental issues. The emergence of reliable tools and prognostic models will greatly enhance decision-making towards sustainable development.
