As the Sentinel North research program draws to a close, research to better understand the changing North and its impact on people and their health is at its peak.
We are pleased to announce that the next Sentinel North Scientific Meeting will take place from 26 to 28 August 2019 at the Lévis Convention Center.
Please mark your calendars and save the dates! More information on the call for abstracts and the meeting will be available soon. Don't hesitate to share this announcement within your networks.
This winter, Sentinel North offers a rich program of transdisciplinary training activities aimed at addressing the complex themes of its research program, while promoting the development of transversal skills.
Do not miss the chance to take part in one of these unique learning opportunities!
Sentinel North announces the opening of its excellence scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships competition, from February 1 to March 10, 2019.
These grants and fellowships aim to encourage the best candidates to undertake or pursue research activities within the Sentinel North research program in a transdisciplinary environment.
Research is mostly governed by a narrow set of ideas about "publications" and "impact", ultimately leading to perverse incentives. "Open scholarship" rethinks old habits by embracing openness at all levels: Data, analysis, dissemination, and education - but how can we best integrate that into our day-to-day practices?
In an informal atmosphere, we want to discuss and learn, both from each other and from specially invited experts. Come join our biweekly lunch seminars, and maybe emerge with some ideas of how to get out of the rut!
Under the leadership of the Sentinel North program at Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada), this International PhD School (IPS) is an advanced, graduate level course on permafrost engineering applied to transportation infrastructure.
Université Laval's CREATE-SMAART and Sentinel North programs offer students a unique opportunity to interact with top level scientists as part of a transdisciplinary and highly technological training program aimed to develop and deploy an optical device in northern conditions.
Registrations are open to recruit participants ready for an integrative and practical experience in the fields of engineering and optics at the Forêt Montmorency, the largest teaching and research forest in the world.
